The Prohibition and Excise Department officials apprehended two individuals on Saturday for allegedly possessing MDMA drugs in Banjara Hills.
Acting on a tip-off, the officials intercepted a vehicle near Banjara Hills and seized 14.83 grams of MDMA from the occupants, identified as Bharat (50) and K. Krishna (43). The duo reportedly purchased the narcotic substance from one Mohd Sharjil, a resident of Delhi.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain the source and distribution network of the seized drugs.
This operation is part of the Telangana government’s continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse in the state.
