Bhadradri-Kothagudem: 31 Injured in Head-On Collision Between Two RTC Buses Near Sarapaka

A head-on collision between two Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) buses near Sarapaka in Burgampadu mandal left 31 passengers with minor injuries on Friday.

According to police, one bus was traveling from Bhadrachalam toward Khammam, while the other was en route from Bhadrachalam to Kothagudem. The accident occurred at a sharp curve, causing the two vehicles to collide directly.

Burgampadu police, upon receiving the alert, rushed to the scene and mobilized 108 ambulance services to carry the injured to a hospital in Bhadrachalam. Officials confirmed that all injuries are minor and no life-threatening cases have been reported.

Although initial media reports quote the passenger count and injury status, police are expected to conduct a full investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the collision—whether it was due to speed, driver error, road condition, or mechanical failure.

Local authorities have urged commuters to exercise caution on sharp road curves and have reiterated the importance of routine vehicle maintenance, especially for public transport vehicles navigating challenging stretches.
