70th Filmfare Awards 2025: Laapataa Ladies Dominates, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol Shine

Hyderabad: The 70th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2025, held at EKA Arena in Ahmedabad in association with Gujarat Tourism, celebrated the best of Hindi cinema with grandeur and emotion. Shah Rukh Khan made a memorable return as host after 17 years, joined by Karan Johar and Maniesh Paul. The evening featured captivating performances from SRK, Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, creating an unforgettable night for Bollywood enthusiasts.

Laapataa Ladies Leads the Awards
Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies emerged as the evening’s biggest winner, securing 13 awards, including Best Film and Best Director. The film also triumphed in key categories such as Best Screenplay, Best Dialogue, Best Music Album, Best Costume Design, and Best Background Score. Kiran Rao expressed her heartfelt gratitude, noting the film was “not Laapata tonight,” and thanked audiences for their love and support.

Lifetime Achievements and Special Recognitions
Veteran icons Zeenat Aman and Shyam Benegal were honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their exceptional contributions to Indian cinema. The R.D. Burman Award for Upcoming Talent in Music was presented to Achint Thakkar for his work in Jigra and Mr. & Mrs. Mahi.
