Hyderabad Fake Paneer Racket Busted: 300 Kg Suspected Adulterated Paneer Seized, Two Arrested
A suspected fake paneer supply racket has been busted on the outskirts of Hyderabad, with nearly 300 kg of suspected adulterated paneer seized at Keesara. Two men were arrested while allegedly transporting the consignment for distribution across the city.
The suspected fake paneer was reportedly being supplied to hotels, restaurants and local vendors, raising concerns over the quality of food products reaching consumers in Hyderabad.
300 kg of suspected fake paneer seized
According to reports, the suspected adulterated paneer was being transported from Yadadri-Bhongir district to Hyderabad when authorities intercepted the consignment at Keesara.
The Malkajgiri Special Operations Team (SOT), along with food safety officials, reportedly stopped two autorickshaws allegedly being used to transport the paneer.
During the operation, officials seized nearly 300 kg of suspected fake paneer.
Paneer allegedly meant for hotels and restaurants
Officials suspect that the seized paneer was being transported for supply to hotels, restaurants and local food vendors across Hyderabad.
The seizure has raised concerns about the possibility of adulterated dairy products entering the city’s food supply chain and being served to unsuspecting customers.
Authorities are now investigating where the consignment was produced and how widely the suspected fake paneer was being distributed.
Suspected paneer made with substandard ingredients
Preliminary suspicion is that the paneer may have been prepared using substandard ingredients.
However, the exact composition and quality of the seized product have not yet been established. Authorities have sent samples for laboratory testing to determine whether the paneer was adulterated and identify the substances used in its preparation.
The laboratory report is expected to provide further clarity on the nature of the suspected fake paneer.
Two arrested, investigation underway
Two men were arrested in connection with the alleged transportation of the consignment. The authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the source of the paneer and identify others who may have been involved in the alleged supply network.
