Hyderabad Police Inspector Suspended After Woman Constable Complaint; Second Marriage Allegation Under Probe
A Malakpet Police Inspector has been suspended following a departmental inquiry into allegations involving a woman constable, alleged lapses in handling criminal cases and dereliction of official duties.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar ordered the suspension of Inspector Kumbham Narasimha after an internal inquiry reportedly examined complaints and alleged lapses connected to his earlier posting at Sultan Bazar Police Station. Further departmental proceedings are expected to continue.
The action has drawn attention after a complaint by a woman constable reportedly raised allegations of inappropriate behaviour during Narasimha’s tenure at Sultan Bazar.
Woman constable complaint triggers departmental inquiry
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint case reportedly dates back to Narasimha’s posting at Sultan Bazar Police Station.
According to reports, the woman constable alleged that the inspector behaved inappropriately towards her. She reportedly approached senior officials after her concerns were not adequately addressed, following which a departmental inquiry was initiated.
The inquiry did not remain limited to the complaint. Officials also examined the officer’s conduct in the discharge of his duties and his handling of criminal cases during his previous posting.
The allegations against the officer remain subject to the ongoing departmental process.
Inquiry finds alleged lapses in handling cases
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint was not the only issue reportedly examined by the department.
According to the findings reported so far, the inquiry identified negligence in handling certain criminal cases and lapses in the performance of official responsibilities during Narasimha’s tenure at Sultan Bazar Police Station.
The inquiry reportedly also raised concerns over the alleged misuse of official authority.
Based on these findings, the Hyderabad Police Commissioner ordered Narasimha’s suspension pending further departmental proceedings.
Inspector’s postings before suspension
Narasimha had previously served as an Inspector at Sultan Bazar Police Station.
According to reports, he was transferred to Dabeerpura Police Station on April 14, 2026, and was subsequently posted as Malakpet Inspector. The inquiry into alleged lapses during his earlier posting reportedly contributed to the decision to suspend him.
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint is therefore connected to events reported to have occurred during his earlier assignment rather than solely his current posting at Malakpet.
First wife raises second marriage allegation
Another allegation reportedly considered in connection with the departmental action was raised by Narasimha’s first wife.
She allegedly accused the inspector of entering into a second marriage while their divorce proceedings were still pending.
Reports further stated that the department took note of an alleged celebration of the birthday of the second wife’s son. The conduct was reportedly examined in the context of applicable service conduct rules.
The second-marriage allegation is a complaint attributed to the officer’s first wife and should not be treated as a final judicial finding.
Suspension does not conclude departmental proceedings
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint has resulted in an administrative suspension, but the matter is not necessarily closed.
The suspension order was issued pending further departmental proceedings, meaning the department can continue examining the allegations and determine what further disciplinary action, if any, is warranted.
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint also involves allegations of inappropriate conduct, while the inquiry reportedly examined separate issues relating to case handling and official responsibilities.
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint has therefore resulted in scrutiny of multiple aspects of the officer’s conduct.
What happens next?
Further departmental proceedings are expected to determine the next course of action against Inspector Narasimha.
The allegations concerning the woman constable, alleged negligence in criminal case handling, misuse of official authority and the second-marriage complaint remain matters for the relevant departmental and legal processes.
The Police Inspector Suspended After Woman constable complaint has also highlighted the importance of proper workplace conduct, accountability in policing and adherence to service rules.
For now, the inspector remains suspended while further proceedings continue.
