Hyderabad Professor Found Dead at IIT Kharagpur; Police Probe Underway
A 36-year-old assistant professor from Hyderabad was found dead at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur on Wednesday, July 29, after his colleagues reportedly found him unresponsive inside his residential quarters on the campus.
The deceased was identified as Deepak Reddy Pullaguram, who was living alone in a residential quarter inside the IIT Kharagpur campus.
According to Kharagpur Town Police, colleagues found the door locked from inside and, after receiving no response, alerted the police. The door was subsequently opened, and Deepak Reddy was found hanging inside the room.
Doctors at BC Roy Hospital declared him brought dead.

Deepak Reddy, aged 36, was originally from Hyderabad and was working as an assistant professor at IIT Kharagpur.
Police said he lived alone in the residential accommodation provided on the IIT campus.
His colleagues reportedly became concerned after finding him unresponsive and the room locked from inside. They contacted the police, following which officers reached the spot and opened the room.
The body was recovered and taken to BC Roy Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
