Six Special Police Teams Deployed

According to Suresh Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Medipally Police Station received a Dial 100 emergency call at around 3:00 PM, reporting the kidnapping of the infant.

Responding immediately, Hyderabad Police formed six special investigation teams to trace the missing child. Authorities also:

  • Issued alerts to major railway stations to prevent the accused from fleeing.
  • Dispatched police teams to Devarakonda and Suryapet in coordination with local Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs).
  • Used technical surveillance and digital tracking to locate the accused.

Officials praised the rapid response by the police teams, stating that quick coordination between multiple units and the effective use of technical evidence played a key role in ensuring the child’s safe recovery within hours.

Incident Follows Recent Baby Trafficking Bust

The rescue comes only days after Hyderabad Police successfully foiled an alleged attempt to sell a four-day-old baby girl in Balapur.

On July 31, police rescued the newborn just minutes before she was allegedly to be sold for ₹5 lakh. The accused, Waheeda Khatoon, allegedly targeted the baby’s mother shortly after she delivered at Government Maternity Hospital. Investigators suspect the involvement of a larger child trafficking network, and the probe is continuing.

Police Continue Vigilance Against Child Crimes

The two incidents in quick succession highlight Hyderabad Police’s intensified efforts to combat crimes involving children, including abduction and trafficking. Officials have urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activity involving minors by contacting emergency services or the nearest police station.
