10 Arrested for Alleged Gambling at Begum Bazar Chatri in Hyderabad

The Goshamahal police apprehended 10 persons for allegedly organising and participating in an illegal three-card gambling game at Begum Bazar Chatri in Hyderabad in the early hours of Sunday.

According to the police, a team from the Goshamahal police station raided a house at Begum Bazar Chatri after receiving information about gambling activity on the premises. During the raid, officers allegedly found 10 persons playing a three-card game for money.

Police seized Rs. 1,18,800 in cash, a pack of 52 playing cards, casino-style tokens and hookah equipment from the premises.

Two allegedly facilitated gambling activity

Police identified Shyam Sunder and Ghanshyam Das Karwa as the persons who allegedly facilitated and organised the gambling activity. The remaining eight persons were allegedly participating in the card game.

During the raid, police also recovered three hookah pots, hookah coils and an electric stove, along with the other items.

Some accused previously booked in cases

According to the police, some of the persons apprehended had allegedly been involved in previous cases related to gaming, excise violations and other criminal offences.

The police have taken action against all 10 persons in connection with the alleged gambling activity. Further investigation into the case is underway.
