Food Unit Raid in Hyderabad: 1,000 Kg Curd, 6 Kg Khowa Seized
An unauthorised food manufacturing unit in Jawaharnagar was raided by police on Sunday, August 16, during which officials seized 1,000 kg of curd and 6 kg of khowa allegedly stored without labels or expiry dates.
The Jawaharnagar police conducted the raid at a unit near Padmashali Township following credible information about the preparation of curd and khowa without the required permission.
Food products found without labels
According to police, the seized curd and khowa did not carry essential details such as labels or expiry dates. Officials also seized equipment and a Tata Ace mini truck from the premises.
Police said the unit had been operating without the required authorisation for approximately three months. Two persons arrested
Two persons were taken into custody during the raid. They were identified as Lakshmaiah, a resident of Sainagar, Kushaiguda, and Ramachander, who was working as a driver.
During questioning, Lakshmaiah allegedly told officials that he had been operating the unit for around three months.
Police registered a case against the two persons for allegedly running the food manufacturing unit without the required permission. Investigation underway
The seized food products and other materials have been taken into custody as part of the investigation.
The police said further action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation. The raid was conducted following information about the unauthorised preparation of khowa and curd at the premises.
