The footage subsequently drew public attention, with several motorists and applicants reportedly raising complaints about the functioning of services at the office.

The allegations included claims that routine services were being delayed and that applicants were being encouraged to approach private agents to get their work processed.

These allegations are subject to the departmental investigation.

ACB conducts inspection

Following the developments, teams from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) reportedly conducted a surprise inspection at the RTO premises to examine the allegations and determine the circumstances surrounding the cash found at the office.

A departmental inquiry has also been ordered to establish the source of the money and determine whether any officials were involved in unauthorised activities.

MVI Bheem Singh and RTO L. Ramchander have been removed from their operational responsibilities at the South Zone facility and attached to the Transport Department headquarters.

The action against the supervisory officials is linked to alleged lapses in monitoring and preventing the operation of unauthorised agents within the RTO premises.

The departmental inquiry will determine individual responsibility and whether further action is warranted.

Transport Department warns RTOs against private agents

The Transport Department has reiterated its instructions to RTOs across Telangana to prevent unauthorised private brokers and agents from operating inside government office premises.

Officials have reportedly been warned that RTO authorities could be held responsible if unauthorised individuals are found operating within their offices.

The department has also stated that officials found colluding with unauthorised agents or deliberately delaying public services could face disciplinary action and, where applicable, criminal proceedings.

The latest action comes amid efforts by the department to strengthen transparency and ensure that citizens can access transport-related government services without relying on unauthorised intermediaries.
