House-to-House SIR Exercise to Begin in Telangana from June 25

The house-to-house enumeration process under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls will be conducted across Telangana from June 25 to July 24, State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C Sudharshan Reddy announced on Saturday.

Addressing a press conference, the CEO said the primary objective of the SIR exercise is to ensure the purification of electoral rolls and to include all eligible citizens in the voter list.

BLOs to Visit Every Household

As part of the exercise, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits across the state. Officials have made all necessary arrangements for the distribution and collection of enumeration forms.

According to the CEO, BLOs will visit every household at least three times during the revision process. During these visits, they will distribute enumeration forms, assist voters when required, and collect the completed forms.

Booth Level Agents Also Trained

To ensure smooth implementation of the programme, Booth Level Agents (BLAs) have also been trained to assist BLOs in filling out and processing enumeration forms.

Officials stated that BLOs will play a crucial role in ensuring that eligible voters are included in the electoral rolls while identifying and correcting discrepancies.

Public Asked to Cooperate

The CEO appealed to all voters to cooperate with BLOs during the door-to-door verification process and provide the necessary information for updating electoral records.

He clarified that the house-to-house enumeration process will conclude on July 24, and no extension will be granted beyond the deadline.

Electoral Roll Revision to Be Conducted Transparently

The Election Commission of India guidelines will be followed throughout the SIR 2026 programme. Officials said the entire exercise will be carried out transparently and in strict compliance with the instructions issued by the Commission.
