In a tragic accident on Saturday, a mother and her three children were washed away by floodwaters in an overflowing stream on the outskirts of Dobha village, Wankidi mandal, Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
According to reports, Moharle Nirmala (33) went to the stream to wash urea bags with her son, Ganesh. When an empty bag was swept away by the strong current, Ganesh entered the water to retrieve it but drowned. Nirmala attempted to save him, while two girls, Shashikala (8) and Maheswari (10), also jumped in to help. Tragically, all four drowned one after another.
Another girl who witnessed the incident ran to the village to alert locals. Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched operations to trace the bodies.
The deceased have been identified as Moharle Nirmala, Moharle Ganesh, Vadai Maheswari, and Ade Shashikala, all residents of Dobha village. The authorities are investigating the incident and have urged villagers to exercise caution near flood-prone areas.
