Hyderabad Realtor Shoots Wife Over Suspicion of Infidelity
A real-estate businessman was arrested for allegedly shooting his wife at their residence in Hyderabad’s Malkajgiri area over suspicion of infidelity, police said on Thursday. The accused, who fled after the incident, was later apprehended near Moula Ali Railway Station following a police manhunt.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 4:30 am on June 10 under the limits of Malkajgiri Police Station. The accused allegedly fired three rounds at his 35-year-old wife, resulting in her death.
The accused has been identified as D Arun Kumar (48), a Hyderabad-based realtor. Following the shooting, he fled the scene, prompting police to form special teams to trace and arrest him.

Investigators revealed that Arun Kumar allegedly suspected his wife’s fidelity and frequently subjected her to physical and mental harassment. Due to recurring disputes, the victim reportedly sought shelter on several occasions at her relatives’ residence in Narsapur, Medak district.
Police said the accused was initially married to the victim’s elder sister. After separating from his first wife, he later married her younger sister.
Officials stated that the relationship remained strained due to repeated allegations of infidelity and ongoing domestic disputes.
Police Arrest Accused Near Moula Ali Railway Station
After receiving information about the murder, police registered a case and formed three special teams to trace the accused.
A coordinated operation led to the arrest of Arun Kumar near Moula Ali Railway Station on June 11.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Malkajgiri Zone) C H Sridhar said the accused was successfully apprehended and evidence connected to the crime was recovered during the operation.
Firearm, Ammunition and Knives Recovered
During the arrest operation, police seized a country-made pistol, live ammunition, knives and other incriminating material allegedly linked to the crime.
Investigators are examining the recovered items as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials said the evidence recovered could play a significant role in the prosecution of the case.
Accused Previously Booked in Firearm Case
Police investigation revealed that Arun Kumar had previously been involved in a case registered at Amberpet Police Station relating to the possession of an illegal firearm.
According to investigators, the accused had allegedly procured the weapon with the intention of killing his wife. He was arrested in that case and remanded to judicial custody.
After being released, he reportedly brought the victim back to his residence. However, disputes between the couple continued and intensified in the days leading up to the fatal shooting.

Police said that during the early hours of June 10, the accused allegedly used a firearm to shoot his wife, resulting in her death.
The incident has shocked residents in the area and once again highlighted concerns surrounding domestic violence and crimes arising from marital disputes.
Authorities have assured that all aspects of the case are being thoroughly investigated.
Investigation Continues
Police have registered a murder case and taken the accused into custody. Further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and gather additional evidence.
Officials are also examining the accused’s previous criminal history, forensic evidence and witness statements as part of the probe.
