Tension prevailed in Telangana’s Bhadradri Kothagudem district after the hospital reception set ablaze after patient’s death in Telangana incident unfolded on Saturday, July 25. Relatives of a deceased patient allegedly set fire to the reception area of a private hospital, accusing the management of medical negligence.

The deceased was identified as Venkataramana, a 38-year-old tribal Sarpanch from Dantelaboru village in Palvancha mandal. She had been admitted to the private hospital a few days earlier after falling ill.

According to police, Venkataramana was undergoing treatment at the private hospital when she died on Friday night.

Her family members alleged that the hospital failed to provide proper treatment and accused the staff of negligence. Angered by the incident, some relatives allegedly set the hospital’s reception area on fire on Saturday morning.

The hospital reception set ablaze after patient’s death in Telangana incident created panic in the area, prompting police to reach the hospital and bring the situation under control.

Family Alleges Medical Negligence

The deceased woman’s husband claimed that the hospital shifted Venkataramana’s body to the Government Hospital in Khammam after her death without properly informing the family.

He alleged that they were unaware of her death until Saturday morning.

The family accused the hospital of attempting to conceal the circumstances surrounding her death and demanded accountability from the management.

Police Reveal Timeline of Events

Bhadrachalam police said Venkataramana had been suffering from fever caused by an infection and was admitted to the private hospital for treatment.

According to police officials:

“Two days ago, Venkataramana complained of fever due to an infection. She died on Friday night, but her family came to know about her death only on Saturday morning.”

Police said the investigation is currently limited because the hospital management has not lodged any formal complaint regarding the fire incident.

No Case Registered So Far

Despite the hospital reception set ablaze after patient’s death in Telangana incident, police confirmed that no criminal case has been registered so far.

Officials stated that since the hospital management has not filed a complaint over the alleged arson, no FIR has been registered in connection with the damage to the reception area.

Authorities, however, are monitoring the situation and may take further action depending on the outcome of the inquiry.

Police are gathering information from hospital staff, family members, and eyewitnesses to determine the exact sequence of events leading to Venkataramana’s death and the subsequent violence.
