Varanasi Teacher Accused of Burning 5-Year-Old’s Private Parts With Heated Knife
A teacher at a private school in Varanasi has been accused of allegedly burning the private parts of a five-year-old nursery student with a heated knife after the child reportedly urinated in his trousers. Police have registered an FIR against the teacher, school principal and management and launched an investigation into the incident.
The case was registered at the Lalpur-Pandeypur police station following a complaint filed by the child’s father, Kesari Jaiswal, a lawyer. The alleged incident has raised serious concerns over the treatment of young children in educational institutions.
Five-Year-Old Allegedly Injured at Private School
According to the child’s father, his son, who studies in nursery at Sareen Soni Play School in Pandeypur, returned home on July 24 complaining of pain in his private parts.
Jaiswal said the child’s mother examined him and noticed a blister. The parents then allegedly sought an explanation regarding how the injury occurred.
The father accused the child’s teacher, Preeti Kushwaha, of causing the injury after the boy allegedly urinated in his trousers. According to the complaint, the child had reportedly been denied permission to use the washroom.
The allegation is that the teacher subsequently took the five-year-old to another room, heated a knife on a gas stove and allegedly used it to burn his private parts.
The serious allegations have prompted police to begin an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Father Alleges School Management Took No Action
The child’s father alleged that he and his wife approached the school principal and management on July 25 along with their son to complain about the incident.
However, Jaiswal claimed that the school authorities did not take appropriate action after he raised the matter. Following the alleged lack of action from the school, the father approached the police and filed a complaint.
Based on his complaint, police registered an FIR against the accused teacher, the school principal and the management.
The investigation is currently underway, and further details are expected to emerge as police examine the allegations and circumstances of the case.
FIR Registered Under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita
Police said the FIR has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The sections mentioned by police include Section 115(2), relating to voluntarily causing hurt; Section 118(1), concerning voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means; and Section 351(2), relating to criminal intimidation.
The allegations against the teacher and school authorities are subject to investigation. Police will determine the facts of the case based on the complaint, available evidence and statements recorded during the investigation.
Akhilesh Yadav Calls Incident Extremely Serious
The alleged incident also drew a political reaction, with Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav describing the matter as “extremely serious” in a post on X.
Yadav said the incident could have a painful and horrifying impact on the child that may remain with him for life. He stressed that teachers should treat children with compassion and humanity and demanded immediate and appropriate action.
The case has renewed attention on the importance of ensuring safe and humane environments for young children in schools. As the investigation progresses, authorities are expected to establish what happened and determine responsibility based on the evidence.
