Applied for Telangana Family Register Certificate? Here’s How to Track Your Application Status

Citizens who have applied for the Telangana Family Register Certificate can now track the status of their applications online using their MeeSeva transaction number. While many residents submitted their applications soon after the service was launched, several applicants are still waiting for their certificates to be issued.

The Telangana government introduced the Family Register Certificate (FRC) to provide families with a single official document containing the details of all family members. The certificate is generated based on the state’s Food Security Card (ration card) database.

How to Check Telangana Family Register Certificate Status

Applicants can easily check the Telangana Family Register Certificate status online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official MeeSeva Telangana website.
  2. Go to the “Know Your Application Status” section.
  3. Enter your MeeSeva transaction number.
  4. Click Submit to view the latest status of your application.

The online tracking system allows applicants to know whether their certificate has been approved, is under processing, or requires further action.

Applications Taking Longer Than Expected

According to the Government Order (GO) issued on July 25, citizens can apply online for the Telangana Family Register Certificate, and the concerned Tehsildar is expected to issue the certificate within two working days.

However, many applicants who submitted their applications on July 27, the day information about the certificate became public, are still waiting for approval.

In several cases, the processing timeline has exceeded the prescribed deadline.

Applicants Asked to Submit Additional Documents

At the Rajendranagar MRO Office, applicants are reportedly being asked to submit supporting documents even after completing the online application.

The required documents include:

  • MeeSeva application acknowledgement
  • Ration Card (Food Security Card)
  • Aadhaar cards of all family members listed on the ration card

It is currently unclear whether all MRO offices across Telangana are following the same procedure. Applicants whose certificates remain pending are advised to contact their respective MRO (Mandal Revenue Office) for clarification.

What is the Telangana Family Register Certificate?

The Telangana Family Register Certificate is an official document that contains complete details of an entire family in a single record.

Each certificate includes:

  • Family Register Identification Number (same as the ration card number)
  • Name of the head of the family
  • Names of all family members
  • Relationship with the head of the family
  • Age and date of birth
  • Gender
  • Aadhaar number
  • Present residential address

The certificate is prepared using the Food Security Card (ration card) database maintained by the Telangana Civil Supplies Department.

The Tehsildar of the mandal where the family’s address is registered is responsible for issuing the certificate.

Why is the Family Register Certificate Important?

The Telangana Family Register Certificate has become an important document for various government services. It is also one of the 12 documents accepted by the Election Commission of India (ECI) during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

The certificate is particularly helpful for voters who are unable to establish a connection with the 2002 electoral rolls, making it easier to verify family details during voter registration and verification processes.

As more citizens apply for the certificate, officials are expected to streamline the issuance process and reduce pending applications in the coming days.
