Cyberabad Police Suspend Head Constable for Allegedly Ignoring Dial-100 Emergency Call

Cyberabad Police Suspend Head Constable after he allegedly failed to respond to an emergency Dial-100 complaint following a road accident near IKEA in Gachibowli. The disciplinary action was taken after a departmental review found that the emergency calls had been closed without any field verification or police response.
The suspended officer has been identified as Head Constable Syed Younus (HC-661), who was attached to the Raidurgam Police Station and was responsible for handling emergency calls on the night of August 1.
According to officials, two cars collided near the IKEA store around midnight, prompting one of the victims to call Dial-100 twice seeking immediate police assistance. However, instead of dispatching a patrol team or visiting the accident site, the head constable allegedly closed both complaints, marking them as “caller nuisance.”
The Cyberabad Police Suspend Head Constable decision was taken after senior officers reviewed the handling of emergency calls and found that the complaints had been disposed of without verifying the situation on the ground. Officials described the lapse as a serious act of negligence in responding to emergency services.
Taking serious note of the incident, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh ordered the immediate suspension of the head constable pending further inquiry.
According to the suspension order issued by the Commissioner’s office, the disciplinary action will remain in effect until the completion of the departmental inquiry. The investigation will determine whether additional action is required based on the findings.
