ABVP, NSUI Clash at EFLU Campus in Hyderabad; Several Injured
Student groups clash after a protest at a women’s hostel; police register cases against both organisations
Representatives of the ABVP and NSUI clashed at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) campus in Hyderabad on Friday, leaving several students injured.
The incident reportedly began after members of the ABVP EFLU unit staged a protest at one of the women’s hostels on Thursday over an issue. NSUI members allegedly attempted to disrupt the protest and exchanged heated words with the ABVP members.
ABVP alleges assault on students
After the students dispersed, the ABVP alleged that some NSUI members entered the room of a BA student at around 3 am on Friday and assaulted him. ABVP, NSUI Clash at EFLU Campus in Hyderabad; Several Injured.
The ABVP further alleged that the NSUI members gagged one of his batchmates and assaulted other ABVP members.
The situation escalated when ABVP members reportedly intervened to help the students, leading to a clash between the two groups.
The ABVP EFLU unit has demanded a fair investigation into the incident and sought the rustication of students allegedly involved in the violence against those participating in the protest.
EFLU proctorial committee begins inquiry

“Initial verbal duel between the two student groups turned into a fight,” university sources said.
Police have registered cases against members of both student groups, while the university’s proctorial committee is examining the incident.
