Woman Found Murdered, Body Stuffed in Gunny Bag in Hyderabad’s Balapur
A woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her lover following an argument over marriage in Balapur, Hyderabad, on Monday. The accused allegedly packed her body in a gunny bag, left it inside the house and fled, police said.
The incident came to light on Monday morning, sending shockwaves through Bismillah Colony, where the victim and the suspect had reportedly been residing.
Woman allegedly killed after argument over marriage
According to the police, the victim was identified as Rehana, while the suspect was identified as Mohammed Salam. The two were reportedly in a relationship and had been living together in Bismillah Colony.
Police said Rehana had allegedly been asking Salam to marry her for some time. The repeated pressure over marriage is suspected to have led to an argument between the two.
During the altercation, Salam allegedly attacked Rehana with a knife, resulting in her death.
Body packed in gunny bag
After the alleged murder, Salam reportedly placed Rehana’s body inside a gunny bag and kept it in the bedroom before fleeing the house.
The incident was subsequently reported to the Balapur police, who reached the location and began an investigation.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that both Rehana and Salam were reportedly natives of Bihar.
Police teams searching for suspect
Police teams have been formed to trace and apprehend Mohammed Salam. Investigators are also working to establish the exact sequence of events and circumstances surrounding the alleged murder.
