Vaishnavi Husband Murder: YouTuber’s Brother Arrested in Nizamabad
Nizamabad police have arrested Gandham Santosh, the brother of late YouTuber Gandham Vaishnavi, in connection with the murder of her husband, C. Hari Babu, reports said on Sunday, September 20.
Hari Babu was hacked to death in Nizamabad on September 17, months after he had been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife Vaishnavi. He was later released on bail.
Vaishnavi Husband Murder Case
According to police, Santosh is the prime accused in the Vaishnavi husband murder case. He has been sent to judicial remand for 14 days.
Hari Babu, his mother Lakshmi and his two brothers had earlier been arrested in connection with the March 17 murder of Vaishnavi in Korutla. They were subsequently released on bail.
After his release, Hari Babu and his mother reportedly shifted to Nizamabad and were staying in Sainagar Colony.
Hari Babu Hacked to Death in Nizamabad
Police said Santosh allegedly attacked Hari Babu with a knife before fleeing the scene in a car.
Nizamabad Assistant Commissioner of Police B. Prakash had earlier described the incident as a revenge attack and said Santosh and his associates allegedly attacked Hari Babu with sickles before fleeing the area.
The murder case was registered at Nizamabad II Town Police Station, as Hari Babu and his family were residing in Sainagar Colony, according to reports.
Police Arrest Santosh Near Nizamabad Bypass
Special police teams were formed to trace the accused following the murder.
According to officials, police traced Santosh near the Nizamabad Bypass Road on Saturday and apprehended him.
Police said Santosh was allegedly attempting to reach the railway station to travel to Visakhapatnam, where his mother-in-law lives.
Following his arrest, Santosh was produced before a court and sent to 14 days of judicial remand.
Police Search for Other Accused
Nizamabad Commissioner Sai Chaitanya said police teams were continuing efforts to trace the other accused allegedly involved in the murder.
The investigation is underway, and police are expected to establish the sequence of events surrounding Hari Babu’s killing and identify the roles of the other accused.
