Baa Baa Black Sheep to Release in Theatres on October 9
New-age crime comedy ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ is set to hit theatres on October 9, coinciding with the Dussehra festive season.
Directed by Guni Manikanti and produced by Venu Donepudi under Chitralayam Studios, the film combines crime, comedy and eccentric characters in a story packed with unexpected situations.
Baa Baa Black Sheep to release during Dussehra
The makers have announced October 9 as the theatrical release date for Baa Baa Black Sheep, positioning the film as a Dussehra season release.
The film features an ensemble cast including Tinnu Anand, Upendra Limaye, Subhalekha Sudhakar, George Maryan, Akshay Lagusani, Vishnu Oi, Karthikeya, Vismayasri, Malvi Malhotra and Raja Ravindra in key roles.
Film shot entirely in Meghalaya
One of the major highlights of Baa Baa Black Sheep is that the film was shot entirely in Meghalaya, making it the first South Indian film to be shot completely in the northeastern state, according to the makers.
The production team travelled across several locations in Meghalaya, including Cherrapunji, to capture the state’s natural landscapes and scenic surroundings.
The locations are expected to give the crime comedy a distinctive visual identity.
Teaser introduces quirky characters
The teaser of Baa Baa Black Sheep, released earlier, introduced audiences to the film’s unusual characters and the eccentric situations at the centre of the story.
The fast-paced presentation, comic elements and unexpected twists have generated curiosity around the film ahead of its theatrical release.
‘Aaja Meri Jaani’ begins musical promotions
The makers have now started the film’s musical promotions with the release of the first lyrical song, ‘Aaja Meri Jaani’.
Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad launched the song and congratulated the team on the film’s unique concept. He also praised the track’s energetic and youthful vibe.
Featuring Akshay Lagusani and Vishnu Oi, the song is presented as a lively party number with vibrant visuals and energetic performances.
Electronic Kili and Anand (Arkado) have composed the music, while Kittu Vissapragada has penned the lyrics. Benny Dayal has provided the vocals.
Producer Venu Donepudi on the film
Producer Venu Donepudi said the film revolves around an interesting incident and that its post-production work is nearing completion.
He described the Meghalaya shoot as a memorable experience for the entire team and said filming across the state has given Baa Baa Black Sheep a distinctive visual identity.
The makers are now preparing for the film’s grand theatrical release on October 9, during the Dussehra festive season.
