FIR Filed Against Telugu Scribe Over CM Revanth Reddy’s Delhi Tour Leak; Police Probe Security Breach
An FIR Filed Against Telugu Scribe has been registered by Hyderabad Police after the social media-based news platform allegedly published confidential information related to Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s official visit to New Delhi. Authorities claim the publication disclosed sensitive security details, raising concerns over a possible breach of official communication.
The case was registered at Khairtabad Police Station on July 14 based on a complaint lodged by K.B. Franklin, the Chief Security Officer to the Chief Minister.
Why Was the FIR Filed Against Telugu Scribe?
According to the complaint, on July 13, the Chief Minister’s Private Secretary circulated a confidential wireless communication to government departments and security agencies regarding the Chief Minister’s official visit to New Delhi.
Officials allege that the message contained highly sensitive operational information, including:
- Minute-by-minute tour schedule
- Z-Plus security classification
- Security and bandobast arrangements
- Official mobile number of the Chief Security Officer
- Chief Minister’s blood group for emergency purposes
Police allege that this confidential document was later published without authorization by Telugu Scribe, leading to the FIR Filed Against Telugu Scribe.
Authorities believe the disclosure may have compromised the Chief Minister’s security arrangements.
Police Suspect Leak of Confidential Information
The complaint states that the confidential message could only have reached the public through unauthorized access or by someone within the official communication network sharing the information unlawfully.
Officials have sought a detailed investigation to identify the source of the alleged leak and determine whether any individuals associated with Telugu Scribe had access to the confidential document.
The FIR Filed Against Telugu Scribe has triggered an investigation into both the origin of the leak and the publication of the document.
Sections Invoked in the Case
Police have registered the case under multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.
The sections invoked include:
- Section 303(2) BNS – Theft
- Section 317(2) BNS – Dishonestly receiving or retaining stolen property
- Section 316(2) BNS – Criminal breach of trust
- Section 125 BNS – Rash or negligent acts endangering human life
- Section 43(b) of the Information Technology Act – Unauthorized data extraction
- Section 66 of the Information Technology Act – Computer-related offences
The investigation will determine whether any criminal offences were committed in obtaining or publishing the confidential information.
Telugu Scribe Responds
Following the registration of the case, Telugu Scribe acknowledged the development through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The platform claimed that the case was filed over its reporting on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visits to New Delhi.
According to the post, Telugu Scribe described the FIR as another “medal” and stated that it had merely reported that the Chief Minister would be making his 73rd visit to New Delhi on July 13.
The organisation has not publicly responded to the specific allegation that it published confidential security information.
Earlier Notice Issued to Telugu Scribe
This is not the first time Telugu Scribe has come under official scrutiny.
In April 2026, Telangana Police’s Intelligence Wing issued a notice to X Corp seeking registration details, account activity, and usage logs related to the Telugu Scribe account.
According to the notice, the Intelligence Department alleged that the account had repeatedly shared objectionable content, including abusive language, morphed images, and videos targeting public figures.
The notice further claimed that such content had the potential to incite hatred and violence, prompting authorities to seek cooperation from the social media platform.
Investigation Underway
Police officials are now investigating how the confidential communication was allegedly leaked and whether there was unauthorized access to official government documents.
The FIR Filed Against Telugu Scribe is expected to examine both the source of the leak and any possible violations related to publishing sensitive security information.
Authorities have not announced any arrests in connection with the case so far, and further legal action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
