Three Hyderabad Girls Flee by Train After Being Scolded; Police Trace Them Through Instagram
Three minor girls who allegedly fled their home after being scolded by their parents were traced by police and safely reunited with their families after they were found aboard a train in Madhya Pradesh, police said on Wednesday, July 29.
The girls reportedly left their home on July 24 and travelled by train towards Delhi before police traced their location using information linked to one girl’s Instagram account.
Girls leave Hyderabad and board Dakshin Express
According to police, the three girls left their house at around 3 pm after allegedly being scolded by their parents.
They reportedly took an auto-rickshaw from Katedan to Budvel Railway Station and then travelled to Secunderabad Railway Station.
From Secunderabad, the girls boarded the Dakshin Express, which was heading towards Delhi.
After one of the girls’ mothers approached the Mailardevpally Police Station and filed a missing complaint on July 25, police launched an immediate search operation.
Instagram helped police track missing girls
Following the complaint, police formed five special teams to trace the girls and bring them home safely.
During the investigation, police discovered that one of the girls was carrying a mobile phone and was actively using Instagram.
Investigators used information available through her Instagram account to identify the mobile number linked to it. The information helped police identify the train’s route and coordinate efforts to intercept it.
Girls traced at Bina Railway Station

The girls were safely brought back to Hyderabad after being traced during the journey.
Following the completion of the required legal formalities and counselling, the three minors were handed over to their respective parents.
The police action brought an end to the search and reunited the girls with their families within a few days of their disappearance.
