Hyderabad Police Recruitment Protest: Unemployed Youth Demand Recruitment for 19,000 Police Vacancies
A Hyderabad Police Recruitment Protest was staged by a group of unemployed youth at Indira Park crossroads on Monday, demanding that the Telangana government issue a fresh recruitment notification to fill 19,000 police vacancies instead of limiting the drive to the recently announced 7,437 posts.
The protesters alleged that thousands of police job aspirants have been waiting for recruitment notifications for several years. They claimed that repeated delays in the recruitment process have deprived many eligible candidates of an opportunity to join the police force.
During the Hyderabad Police Recruitment Protest, demonstrators urged the State government to release a notification covering all 19,000 vacant police posts. They argued that recruiting only 7,437 personnel would leave a significant number of vacancies unfilled despite the growing need for police personnel across Telangana.
Another key demand raised during the Hyderabad Police Recruitment Protest was the relaxation of the upper age limit for police recruitment. Protesters said many aspirants have crossed the prescribed age limit due to delays in issuing recruitment notifications, making them ineligible despite years of preparation.
The unemployed youth appealed to the government to consider their concerns, provide age relaxation for affected candidates, and speed up the recruitment process to ensure that deserving aspirants receive a fair opportunity.
After receiving information about the protest, Chikkadpally police reached the Indira Park crossroads and brought the situation under control. The flash protest concluded without any reports of violence or major disruption.

Aspirants have urged the Telangana government to address the issue at the earliest by filling all vacant police posts and announcing a comprehensive recruitment schedule.
