Hyderabad Zoo Ticket Prices Hiked From August 1: Foreign Visitors to Pay Rs 1,000, Entry Fees Revised
Visitors planning a trip to Hyderabad’s iconic Nehru Zoological Park will have to pay revised ticket prices from August 1, as the zoo authorities have increased entry fees and service charges. This marks the second ticket price revision at the zoo within the last 15 months.
Under the new pricing structure, the entry fee for adults has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 120, while children will now have to pay Rs 60 instead of the earlier Rs 50. For the first time, separate charges have been introduced for foreign visitors, with an entry ticket fixed at Rs 1,000.
The decision to revise the Hyderabad Zoo ticket prices was taken during the 15th governing body meeting of the Zoos and Parks Authority of Telangana (ZAPAT). Officials stated that the zoo is permitted to increase ticket rates by 10 percent every year, and the latest hike was implemented accordingly.
Toy Train and Camera Charges Increased
Apart from entry tickets, several services inside the zoo have also become costlier. The toy train ride charges have been revised to Rs 90 for adults and Rs 45 for children, compared to the previous rates of Rs 80 and Rs 40 respectively.
Photography charges have also witnessed major changes. The fee for using a still camera has increased from Rs 150 to Rs 500. However, video camera charges have been reduced significantly from Rs 2,500 to Rs 500. Charges for movie cameras remain unchanged at Rs 10,000.
Visitors carrying cameras with lenses and tripod setups will now have to pay Rs 700 as user charges.
Battery Vehicle Charges Revised at Hyderabad Zoo
The charges for battery-operated vehicles inside Nehru Zoological Park have also been increased. The new rates are Rs 135 for adults and Rs 75 for children, compared to the previous charges of Rs 120 and Rs 70.
The cost of hiring larger battery-operated vehicles has also gone up. The charges for an 11-seater battery vehicle have increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,300, while hiring a 14-seater vehicle will now cost Rs 4,400 instead of Rs 4,000.

Meanwhile, Dr MA Hakeem, Deputy Director (Veterinary) of Nehru Zoological Park, retired after a farewell ceremony held on the zoo premises.
Telangana Zoo Parks Director Dr Sunil S Hiremath praised Dr Hakeem’s long association with the zoo and highlighted his contribution during his service. Zoo curator J Vasantha said that several successful animal exchange programmes were conducted during Dr Hakeem’s tenure, along with breeding programmes for various wild and endangered species.
