In a tragic incident, a Medak farmer was electrocuted while attempting to repair a technical fault in his borewell pump set at Nagasanpally village in Kowdipally mandal on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Chinthalagari Gopal (45), a farmer who had recently completed the transplantation of paddy following heavy inflows into the Manjeera River, which provided much-needed water for agricultural activities in the region.
According to local sources, Gopal’s borewell pump developed a technical problem after the transplantation work. While trying to restore power to the pump set and fix the fault himself, he accidentally came into contact with a live electrical wire. The Medak farmer electrocuted in the incident died on the spot due to the severe electric shock.
