Hyderabad: Priest found assaulting minor girl inside temple
A priest was arrested after he was allegedly found in an objectionable situation with a minor girl inside a temple in Ramachandrapuram (RC Puram), police said on Saturday, August 15.
The priest, identified as Sayanna, had allegedly locked himself inside a room at the temple with the minor girl. Police subsequently registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and took him into custody. Priest Found Assaulting Minor Girl Inside Temple.
Priest allegedly found with minor girl
According to the police, the incident took place on August 13 at the temple in Ramachandrapuram.
A video purportedly showing the incident has also surfaced. The footage shows two people entering the room while the priest is seated on the floor without his trousers. The circumstances shown in the video are part of the ongoing investigation.
POCSO case registered in Hyderabad
A complaint was filed with the police on August 14, following which authorities registered a case against the priest under the POCSO Act.

Police have taken Sayanna into custody and are investigating the incident, including the circumstances under which the priest and the minor girl were inside the temple room.
