Six Arrested in Hyderabad for Alleged ₹21 Lakh Shaadi Mubarak Scheme Fraud

Shaadi Mubarak Scheme Fraud; The Attapur police have arrested six individuals, including a special revenue inspector, for allegedly defrauding the Telangana government’s Shaadi Mubarak Scheme by submitting fake applications and forged documents to claim financial assistance meant for eligible beneficiaries.

The accused are alleged to have fraudulently obtained nearly ₹21 lakh from the government through multiple bogus applications before sharing the proceeds among themselves and other accomplices.

Revenue Official Among Those Arrested

The arrested individuals have been identified as Dharavath Ashok Kiran (32), a Special Revenue Inspector working at the Bandlaguda Tahsildar Office, along with Mohammed Jaffar (26), Mohammed Sarfaraz (26), Syed Musharaf Uddin (23), Mohd Akbar (20), and Mohd Etemaad (25).

According to police officials, the accused worked together to create and submit fraudulent applications under the Shaadi Mubarak welfare scheme.

Fake Documents and Morphed Photos Used

Investigators revealed that Mohd Etemaad, an Aadhaar operator, allegedly colluded with the other accused to prepare fake Shaadi Mubarak applications using morphed photographs of men and women along with fraudulently obtained supporting documents. -Shaadi Mubarak Scheme Fraud

The forged applications were reportedly submitted at the Bandlaguda Tahsildar Office through Ashok Kiran, who allegedly processed and forwarded them without conducting mandatory field verification.

₹21 Lakh Fraudulently Sanctioned

Speaking on the case, Rajendranagar ACP T. Srinivas stated that Ashok Kiran allegedly recommended the fake applications for approval, leading to the sanctioning of government funds to non-existent beneficiaries.

The gang is accused of securing approximately ₹21 lakh under the welfare scheme through multiple fraudulent applications.

Police said the illegally obtained funds were later distributed among the accused and individuals who provided bank accounts and other documents used to facilitate the fraud.

All Accused Remanded

Following an investigation, Attapur police arrested all six suspects and produced them before a court. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody.

Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to determine whether additional individuals were involved in the fraud and to identify any other fraudulent applications linked to the network.

The Shaadi Mubarak Scheme is a Telangana government welfare initiative that provides financial assistance to eligible minority families for the marriage of their daughters.
