Raids at 20 Dairy Outlets in Hyderabad; 1 Closed, 2 Licences Revoked
Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) conducted raids at 20 dairy outlets in Hyderabad and surrounding areas on Tuesday, September 22, as part of food safety inspections.
During the inspections, one dairy outlet was closed for operating without an FSSAI licence, while the licences of two other establishments were revoked over violations.
Dairy outlet closed in Hayathnagar
Venkata Shiva Milk Point in Hayathnagar was closed after officials found that it was operating without an FSSAI licence.
TG SAFE also revoked the FSSAI licences of Beejapuri Dairy Private Limited (Country Delight) at Chinna Kanjarla in Patancheru, Sangareddy, and Sapthagiri Foods at Karmanghat in Hyderabad.
Hygiene violations found during inspections
Officials reported several hygiene and infrastructure-related violations at the inspected dairy establishments.
The violations included:
- Heavy housefly infestation
- Lack of water-testing and pest-control records
- Absence of food-handler health records
- Mould growth
- Damaged flooring
- Water stagnation
- Rusty equipment and pipes
- Poorly maintained drainage systems
Officials collected 18 samples for testing amid suspicion of possible adulteration.
Improvement notices issued to 10 dairy establishments
TG SAFE also issued improvement notices to 10 dairy establishments.
The establishments include Federated White Nectar Private Limited in Abdullapurmet, Shanthi Farm and Agri Products at Palmakole, Dairy Spot at Bairamalguda, Sri Laxmi Narsimha Milk Traders at Karmanghat and Hatsun Dairy in Kadthal. Raids at 20 Dairy Outlets in Hyderabad; 1 Closed, 2 Licences Revoked.
The list also includes Arvais Nature Products Pvt Ltd at Batasingaram, Nature Farm in Rangareddy, VK Dairy Essential Pvt Ltd in Muchintal village, Sri Geetha Milk Traders and Processing Unit at Nadergul and Sids Farm Pvt Ltd at Shabad.
Further action will depend on the findings of the samples and compliance with the food safety requirements.
