Hyderabad Voters Face Aadhaar-Voter ID Name Mismatch Issue
Several voters in Hyderabad are encountering difficulties while submitting their Special Intensive Revision (SIR) enumeration forms online due to mismatches between the names on their Aadhaar cards and Voter ID (EPIC) records.
While affected voters can still submit their forms through the offline process, many have expressed concern over delays in visits by Booth Level Officers (BLOs), who are responsible for collecting and verifying the forms. Voters Face Aadhaar-Voter ID Name Mismatch Issue.
SIR Enumeration Forms Can Be Submitted Online or Offline
The Election Commission has provided two methods for submitting SIR enumeration forms across Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana.
Offline Submission Process
Voters choosing the offline method must:
- Collect the enumeration form from their respective Booth Level Officer (BLO).
- Fill in the required details accurately.
- Submit the completed form back to the BLO for verification.
Many electors are currently waiting for BLOs to visit their residences, resulting in delays and uncertainty.

Voters can also submit the enumeration form through the Election Commission of India (ECI) website or mobile application.
After successfully submitting the form online, voters will receive an acknowledgment receipt. However, the process is not considered complete until the BLO verifies the application through the official ECI app.
After online submission, electors should:
- Download the acknowledgment receipt.
- Submit the acknowledgment to the concerned BLO.
- Obtain a signed acknowledgment from the BLO on a separate copy.
- Ensure that the BLO verifies the application using the official ECI application.
Without BLO verification, the online submission remains incomplete.
Who Is Eligible to Submit the SIR Form Online?
Online submission is available only to voters who meet the following conditions:
- The name on the Aadhaar card matches exactly with the name on the Voter ID (EPIC).
- The mobile number is linked with Aadhaar.
Before starting the online process, voters should keep the following details ready:
- EPIC (Voter ID) number.
- 2002 SIR details (if applicable).
- EPIC numbers of the father, mother, or spouse (whichever is applicable).
- A scanned passport-size photograph (optional).
Mobile Number Not Linked to Voter ID?
Voters whose mobile number is not linked with their Voter ID must first submit Form 8 to update or link their mobile number. Once updated, they can proceed with the online SIR process without any issues.
Aadhaar-Voter ID Name Mismatch Causing Delays
Election officials have indicated that the most common reason for online submission failures is a mismatch between names recorded in Aadhaar and the Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC). Voters facing this issue are advised to either correct their records or complete the process through the offline mode until the discrepancy is resolved.
