Trainee IPS Officer Accused of Sexual Harassment Arrested in Nalgonda
The Hyderabad Police on Tuesday, July 28, arrested trainee IPS officer Uday Krishna Reddy, who is facing allegations of sexual harassment and assault made by a fellow woman trainee at the National Police Academy (NPA) in Hyderabad.

The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation. Police had earlier attempted to record his statement, but he was reportedly unavailable, leading to reports that he had gone into hiding.
Allegations Against the Trainee IPS Officer
The complainant, a fellow trainee IPS officer, has levelled serious allegations against Reddy. She further alleged that he attempted to strangle her, threatened her with a knife, and secretly recorded a private video without her consent. According to the complaint, the video was later sent to her husband in an alleged attempt to blackmail and intimidate her.
Earlier Developments in the Case
Earlier, Reddy was found unconscious, prompting speculation that he had attempted suicide. However, doctors later clarified that his condition was the result of excessive alcohol consumption.

Amid reports that he was absconding, Reddy had stated that he travelled to his native village because his grandmother was unwell. He also expressed confidence in the judicial process.
Telangana High Court Petition
Reddy subsequently approached the Telangana High Court seeking the quashing of the First Information Report (FIR) registered against him.
Following his arrest, Hyderabad Police are expected to record his statement and continue the investigation. Authorities are examining the allegations, digital evidence and other material submitted as part of the case.
