He also claimed that even members of Ranaut’s own party did not take her remarks seriously and argued that young people had played a key role in strengthening democratic participation through peaceful protests.

Das added that as a Member of Parliament, Ranaut should exercise greater responsibility while making public statements.

Opposition Leaders Condemn Comments

Several opposition leaders also criticised Ranaut’s remarks.

Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi said Gen Z would respond to her comments democratically. Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury described the statements as unfortunate, while Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav termed them insensitive.

AIMIM leader Waris Pathan urged Ranaut to apologise to Gen Z, stating that students had exercised their constitutional right to protest and expressing support for their democratic participation.
