Big Change in Telangana Polling Stations: 460 Added After Rationalisation
Telangana now has 36,353 polling stations across 119 Assembly constituencies; Hyderabad gets 32 additional stations
The number of Telangana polling stations has increased to 36,353 following the rationalisation exercise undertaken by the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
The Telangana CEO published the list of rationalised polling stations on Wednesday, August 12, after the enumeration phase of the SIR process ended on August 10.
Before rationalisation, Telangana had 35,985 polling stations across 119 Assembly constituencies. The latest list shows that 460 polling stations are proposed to be added, while 92 existing stations are proposed to be deleted or merged.
As a result, the overall number of Telangana polling stations has increased to 36,353, a net rise of 368 stations.

According to the rationalisation details, 460 new polling stations are proposed to be added across the state. At the same time, 92 polling stations will be deleted or merged.
The exercise will also bring changes to the location and names of several polling stations. As many as 551 polling stations will be shifted to different locations, while 335 stations will be given new names.
These changes have been made as part of the ongoing electoral roll revision process in Telangana.
Hyderabad polling stations increase to 4,094
The number of Hyderabad polling stations has also increased following the rationalisation exercise.
Hyderabad previously had 4,062 polling stations. The number has now risen to 4,094, with 32 additional stations proposed.
Of the 32 new polling stations, 18 will be added in Bahadurpura, eight in Chandrayangutta, five in Karwan and one in Secunderabad Cantonment.
In addition, 117 polling stations in Hyderabad will be shifted to different locations, while 43 stations will be given different names.

The Telangana Chief Electoral Officer has published the district-wise details of the rationalised polling stations.
Voters can check the list to find details of polling stations in their respective areas and note any changes in polling station location or name.
