Hyderabad CP Sajjanar Warns Against Fake News Ahead of NEET UG 2026
Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 examination scheduled for June 21, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police VC Sajjanar has urged students and parents not to fall victim to fake news, rumours, or fraudulent claims regarding the examination.
Addressing concerns surrounding alleged paper leaks and misinformation circulating online, Sajjanar assured aspirants that the examination is being conducted with complete transparency and strict security measures.
“Do not believe any kind of rumours regarding the examination,” the Commissioner said, emphasizing that authorities are closely monitoring online activities to prevent malpractice and protect students.
Strict Action Against Cyber Criminals
Sajjanar warned that strict legal action would be taken against individuals and groups attempting to mislead students through fake propaganda, false promises, and fraudulent schemes related to NEET UG.
He said cyber criminals often exploit students’ anxiety by claiming to have access to question papers or guaranteed admissions in exchange for money.
“The future of students should not be jeopardized by such fraudulent activities. Parents and candidates must remain vigilant,” he said.
Cyber Crime Wing Monitoring Social Media
The Commissioner revealed that despite restrictions imposed on Telegram, some individuals are still attempting to use the platform through Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to engage in illegal activities.
According to him, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Department has placed special surveillance on such activities and is actively tracking suspicious groups and individuals involved in spreading misinformation.

Report Suspicious Activities Immediately
Sajjanar urged aspirants and parents to immediately report any suspicious messages, calls, or social media communications related to NEET question papers or seat allotments.
“If anyone contacts you demanding money in exchange for question papers or admissions, immediately report the matter by dialling 100 or approaching the nearest police station,” he said.
Telegram Restricted Ahead of Examination
The warning comes after the Central Government temporarily restricted access to Telegram ahead of the NEET UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21.

Authorities stated that several Telegram channels and groups were allegedly being used to advertise fraudulent access to examination papers and deceive students.
Government Intensifies Anti-Cheating Measures
Officials said multiple agencies, including the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), have been working with state police departments to identify and shut down channels involved in examination-related fraud.
Several suspects linked to online cheating networks have already been arrested in different states as part of ongoing investigations.
Authorities have reiterated that NEET UG 2026 will be conducted under strict supervision and urged students to focus on their preparation rather than rumours circulating on social media.
The Hyderabad Police have assured that any attempt to spread misinformation or exploit students will be dealt with firmly under the law.
