According to the police, the baby girl was born earlier this week at a government hospital in Malakpet. Investigators said a woman identified as Waheeda allegedly convinced the infant’s parents to sell the newborn and negotiated a deal worth Rs 5 lakh with a couple from Shaheennagar.

Acting on credible information, the Balapur police formed special teams to monitor the suspected transaction. Officers intercepted Waheeda when she allegedly arrived in Shaheennagar to hand over the infant to the buyers.
