Her mother, who is a single parent, said the family had no option but to relocate to protect their privacy and safety.
Mother Appeals for Privacy and a Normal Life

Expressing her anguish, she said:
“My daughter made a blunder, and she has apologised for it. PM Modi has also forgiven her. Then why are we still being harassed?”
She further appealed:
“Please forgive her and let us live like everyone else.”
The mother also expressed concern that the situation has affected both their personal lives and their future, saying they simply want to move on from the incident.
Teen Alleges Cyberbullying, Doxxing and Threats
The teen who apologised to PM Modi relocates after alleging that she became the target of sustained cyberbullying following her public apology.
According to the teenager, she received abusive messages, was subjected to doxxing, and allegedly received rape threats on social media.
She had earlier stated that some of the threatening messages warned her that she would be attacked if she was seen in public.
The family claims these alleged threats created constant fear, ultimately forcing them to leave their rented accommodation.
FIR Registered Over Remarks Made During Protest
The teenager is also facing legal proceedings based on a complaint filed by Smriti Singh Chandel, the legal head of Akhand Bharat Hindu Sena.
Police registered an FIR under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections related to:
- Intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of peace.
- Publishing or circulating statements allegedly intended to create public mischief.
- Criminal defamation.
The investigation into the FIR is ongoing.
Family Questions Lack of Action on Alleged Online Threats
While legal action has been initiated regarding the teenager’s remarks, her family has questioned why there has been no reported investigation into the alleged online threats and cyberbullying she says she experienced.
The mother said repeated visits by unknown people and police officers made it impossible for them to continue living peacefully in the neighbourhood.
She appealed to authorities and the public to allow her daughter to rebuild her life after admitting her mistake and issuing a public apology.
Concerns Over Online Safety of Minors
The case has also renewed discussions about the impact of online harassment on children and teenagers.
Experts have repeatedly warned that cyberbullying, doxxing and online threats can have serious psychological and emotional consequences, particularly for minors.
The family hopes the relocation will provide them with privacy and a chance to resume a normal life away from public attention.
Investigation Continues
Authorities have not officially commented on the family’s relocation or the allegations regarding online threats.
Meanwhile, the FIR registered against the teenager remains under investigation. The family has reiterated its appeal for privacy and an end to the harassment they say they have been facing.
